Here is Sara after Katie's Play for the 5th grade Shakespeare unit. She is mad because she thinks she should get to stay at school and I'm holding her back. Three is very grown up around here. Here is Mustard seed. She had so much fun preparing for this play. Her costume, the way the fairies would enter to flipping her hair. She talked about it non stop till it was over.
Here are the fairies together before the play. You can see why it was so much fun for Katie. She got to hang out with her good friends.
Jonathan was so excited to see Sara and I before His Hansel and Gretel play. He let Sara sit with him at his desk and she was so ready for that.
Jonathan was one of the many angels protecting Hansel and Gretal in the Woods as they slept. The music teacher did such a great job with the kids. They loved it. The room was packed with parents and it was hard to get good pictures but it was a lot of fun to be there. Max was gone for the week with Grandma and Grandpa Schorr. Sara missed him a lot, I miss him a lot too. He got spoiled with attention and I don't think he missed us.

Halloween
Here is Lewis (Katie was Sacagewea and is not pictured because she got to hang out with friends.) Jonathan loved trick or treating and wanted to go to as many houses as he could get me to go. It was raining and I was a wimp and we didn't go to enough for his liking. He still got a lot of candy and said thank you at every house. Halloween is the best for 7 yr olds.
Here is Sara on Halloween night. She is in a coat because it rained and rained and rained on Halloween Eve. She could of cared less. She was so excited. She was in Katie's old tinker bell costume and her new coat. She looked good and she knew it.

BYU Triple Crown
It was a crazy day. Katie came late from dance to make the Triple Crown. Luckily Scott had an appointment in Orem to finish up his day and could drop her off and grab the kids I had and take them home before Young Mens. Jonathan had felt sick in the morning.....ear ache. I had totally planned on skipping this event. Jonathan really wanted to do this. It was his first year to be able to run in the Triple Crown. He school had won the trophy for 3 straight years and were excited to try for their fourth. I was intrigued to see how Jonathan would do. We aren't amazing runners...or I am not. Katie finished the race. Being tired from dance and sore from Insanity the night before we were happy for her. Jonathan however, paced himself talked to everyone along the way and enjoyed it. He came in 11th out of a lot of boys and even beat some of the girls still trying to finish up from the race before. We asked him if he understood he was trying to pass the other kids. No, he thought you were just suppose to run the mile. Next year we will see how it goes. Maybe we do have a runner in the family.

Hiking
Here we are in little cottonwood canyon over Labor Day. We picked a smaller hike. Scott and I were tired from our Insanity workout. The kids had fun exploring the old damn and riverbed.
This is what we try to do with the kids as often as the weather permits and we have a free weekend. Hiking, it's generally free and uses up all the extra energy those kids have so much of. The kids were pretty good....Katie kept waiting for me. Scott carried Sara in a pack and so he was really tired at the end. Sara had the most fun, Jonathan carried the most rocks, and Katie drank the most water. Kaleb was patient and willing to wait for the rest of us on the way up, but cramped on the way down and so we waited for him.

Fourth of July Parade
So here are a few highlights from the fourth of July Parade. Katie remade her shirt and designed her braided hairstyle. Kaleb sported a mohawk with his cousins conner, jake, colby and Uncle dave. Sara was just there for the food, lets be honest. Robin's Mom gave the girls the cute fourth of July flowers and the kids went through a lot of snap it fireworks. It was a lot of awesomeness!!!!!

Trek Pictures
The Allen Trek Family poses as they prepare for an amazing "Journey to the Promise Land".
It was very dirty, and hard but so amazing, and full of so many stories, experiences and prayer.
Preparing for Trek
Preparing for Trek included taking the kids to Boise (again by myself) so my parents could watch over them while we went on a youth Trek in the Mountains. My kids got to do so many cools things with my parents. I was so excited for them.. the first day they went on a Nature Walk and then played at the coolest park. Here is Kaleb on top of the climbing wall. Jonathan and Max pose with a statue after picking out Free Magic Tree House books from the Eagle Library. Jonathan had just finished two magic treehouse books and was so excited to have a new one to read at Grandma's house. Thank you Mom and Dad.
Scout Camp
So on purpose you send a 12 year old boy to the mountains to learn and grow up. Then at the end of the week you send up your 6 year old son and husband to check on him and found the camping and wilderness survival classes have made him into a better young man. Thank goodness for scouts and the leaders who help these kids. Kaleb was missed by his family, but we love him and are glad he got to go.

Sunday Mornings
Take Me out to the Ball Game!
Scott found out when the Mets would be practicing during our trip to Florida and figured out a way to go see them. Grandpa, Uncle Dave, Evie, Jonathan, Katie, Kaleb and Scott made a 2 hour trip to see them. Kaleb and the men enjoyed the game. Everyone else may have endured it. Scott was in no way unhappy.
Dave and Evie still smiling after a long day. We love Evie's crown.
Here is the field from where they were sitting.

Kindergarten Program
So it was hard to get really good pictures of the program, but here you can see how serious Jonathan was about the whole thing. Even the funny songs he sang seriously. It was fun to learn a new song.....Hermanie the Wormie. So funny. Totally could be a veggie tale silly song. Jonathan you did awesome... and I loved that you picked a Medium Rootbeer instead of a Frosty for your treat.
Beautiful.....and knowing it!
It looks like Sara is being strangled, but actually she was being helped with her pose. I am laughing in the background. Brynn and Katie dolled up Sara and she loved it. That is why being the littlest is so fun! We loved having Brynn for a late night turned into sleep over. Having cousins is the best.
